Medusa is one of the most misunderstood, mysterious, and feared figures in
Greek mythology.
For millennia, she has been depicted as a monster to be feared,
even hunted within the recesses of our inner worlds.
Cursed, with no redemptive arc to her story.
Used as a weapon and a warning instead.
Yet, she holds an ancient power, deep wisdom, healing energy, and oracular gifts that are profoundly needed at this time.
Medusa is deeply intertwined with Eros, creativity, our life-death-life nature, our deep inner knowing, and our capacity to bring healing and essential,
ancestral knowledge to a dying world.
Sadly, through root loss, cultural upheaval, appropriation,
and the initiation of patriarchal rule through the Father Wound,
the truth of who she is and what she means in our lives has been lost.
This wound has been passed down through generations, leading many of us--black sheep, cycle breakers, medicine people, visionaries, healers, seers, creatives, and cultural change-makers—to fear these very aspects of our own nature.
The truth is, you likely come from lineages that held deep oracular gifts, creative power, and healing visions that could be the golden salve the world needs.
There is a reason these gifts were oppressed, and there is a reason these energies are now shaking beneath the earth, writhing in the waters of your being, begging to be reclaimed.

I am a grief doula, psychospiritual mentor, ritual facilitator, initiated Dagara Diviner and Hungarian-American medicine woman with a doctorate in clinical psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
My life's work has culminated in founding the Dreaming Awake Institute and Global Online Community. It is my vision to foster conscious, loving and generative spaces for grief tending, ancestral healing and recovering our sense of interdependent humanity through remembering both the healing technology of ritual and the spiritually transformative nature of grief.
