Grieving is not suffering, but the tension we create against it is.

Grief, like love, is central to our human experience.
We do not grieve what we do not love.
Grieving is what heals us.
There is divine design in grief.
It is the death process for the living that forever changes us as it transforms the psyche and awakens us into a new level of consciousness.
Grief is a vital part of the healing process.
Loss pervades so much of our lives as impermanence is a constant feature of living in the material world.
Grief can be disorienting.
We may find ourselves longing for who is gone, what is no longer there, who we were or what can never be.
No loss is just one loss, but within it contains a multitude of other losses.
Our identities shed and we encounter spaces within where we might not know how to care for ourselves.
Our belief systems come into question as we feel separate from Life, or angry and sad with God.
Grief also contains the seeds of our certain emergence.
It is a natural byproduct of loving, living and paying attention, yet it has also become quite taboo in our world to spend much time with grief.

Death and grief exist in the flourishing of the natural world.
Mycelium grow their fruits, our beloved mushrooms, from the consumption of dead things.
Elephants, dolphins, crows and horses, to name a few, engage in grief rituals.
Predators eat prey animals, which supports the flowing waters and growing ecosystem.
God is the whole….light, love, life, death, grief, regeneration, emergence and flourishing.
God is alive in all of it.
It is only modern humans that believe that there is some right order of things that creates suffering and separation when we need Grace, love and hope the most.
Grief is a part of the spiral of life, of our evolution.
We are an embodiment of the spiral of life and grief takes us on an evolutionary journey of becoming more whole through our broken hearts.
The Way of the Spiral is part map, part masterclass and part ritual.
This course is based on my body of work, the Spiral Codex™, a psychospiritual map for understanding the grief journey and how it transforms the psyche.
Within animism, as well as many mystical traditions, nature is felt to be the embodiment of God.
This work is rooted in the ways of the natural, wild world; unwinding the hierarchy and linear, bringing us back to the center of Love.
❅ Each session will contain teaching, a guided ceremonial journey and energy transmission.
❅ You will also receive a ritual practice for integration outside of the class container.
❅ Join a private online community for sharing and community support between sessions.

"The Spiral is unlike any other inner work I’ve ever undertaken. The experience of self-revelation, transmutation and release has been potent beyond telling. I discovered strength I did not know I had and was able to make hard decisions I did not think I was capable of. The immediate, tangible results of the Spiral have been transformative. I feel better grounded in my process and far clearer about the path ahead. If I could write in starlight it would form into these words:
Take this workshop. Your life will thank you.” J.K. - Florida

Course Outline
THE DIVINE DESIGN OF GRIEF
Grief happens in layers, many things occurring at the same time in our inner world. This class is an introduction to the Spiral Codex™, a new model of grief that follows the path of the natural, wild world. You will receive a foundational ritual we will work with throughout our time together. |

SHEDDING SKINS
Grieving for ourselves is another layer of the grief process. We mourn the parts of self that were attached to what as lost, as well as who we thought we were, our dreams, visions and the way we believed the world to work. We shed skins, become new and find tender parts of ourselves once tucked away. We will engage in a healing journey to bring soothing and care to these tender parts of ourselves. |

EMERGENCE
Emergence in life is just as certain as impermanence. We grieve, and, with time, we open back into life from a new place, rooted in different soil with a new sense of who we are. We feel more aliveness in our bodies, Eros runs through us in a different way. There is a rooted power available to live into our prayers that run in the same current as our grief. This flow carries us both in grief and towards flourishing. It offers us grace and hope in the waves of grief. We will share in a closing ceremony and make offerings for the pieces of life and love that want to emerge in our lives at this time.

“This experience has changed me in a very deep way, down to the bones. It has put things in such perspective for me. The Way of the Spiral makes grief feel much more approachable and kind. I can feel it moving inside of me, rather than it being outside of me and something I have to work at or get through. Mia’s teaching is profound, powerful, soft and very beautiful. It is different and quite effective.” R.S.
See you on February 15th, it will be magic.
About Your Facilitator and Guide: Dr. Mia Hetényi
|
I am a grief doula, psychospiritual mentor, initiated Dagara diviner and Hungarian-American medicine woman with a doctorate in clinical psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
My life's work has culminated in founding the Dreaming Awake Institute and Global Online Community. It is my vision to foster conscious, loving and generative spaces for grief tending, ancestral healing and recovering our sense of interdependent humanity through remembering both the healing technology of ritual and the spiritually transformative nature of grief. You can read more of my story here... |
"Mia carries a deeply needed, gently delivered and immensely potent medicine for us individually and collectively. That is to grieve in sacred, conscious and artfully held rituals, regularly as part of human living and being. Her medicine powerfully helped me release what needed to pass through, and open up space for what wanted to come alive. Her dedication, mastery and refined deliverance are pure blessings and healing gifts. — F. L.
